Reasons and solutions for CO2 laser cutting without light

Category:FAQ

Users often encounter some problems when operating CO2 laser cutting machines. This is usually caused by an operational error rather than a true mechanical failure.

When the CO2 laser is not firing, you can follow these steps:

Check the power connection

Press Pulse, the ammeter works, and the laser power supply is normal; if it does not work, please check whether the wire connection or the power supply is damaged. Remove the signal cable and network cable of the laser power supply, then press the TEST button. If the laser shoots, the tube and power supply are ok, it's just that the wires are not connected properly somewhere. Make sure the wires in the motherboard are connected correctly.

Check your Estop

Some laser cutters have an emergency stop function. These are usually large, bright red buttons that can be pressed quickly to cut power to the laser. Remember to reset the stop (by turning it until it "springs back" to the "up" position). If the emergency stop is not reset, the laser will not fire.

Check the cooling system

Another common reason for the laser not firing is water not flowing through the laser tube. As a safety feature, if the water doesn't flow through the laser tube, it won't fire the laser. Some cooling systems turn on an alarm when the water is not flowing or the water temperature is too high. In either case, it is necessary to check whether the cooling water is normal.

Please check your plumbing connections and make sure your plumbing and chiller are assembled correctly. You are more likely to put the hose upside down. The correct plumbing assembly is shown in the illustration.

Check your mirrors

Sometimes the laser will fire, but it won't hit the mirror or lens (and therefore not hit your material). If you visually see the laser tube firing, but no laser hits your material, try an alignment test to see if your mirror tends to adjust. If you encounter problems during operation, you can contact the technician online and he will help you.

There are many reasons why CO2 laser cutters do not emit laser light. Under normal circumstances, it can be solved by following the above steps to troubleshoot.
