My country's first 100KW ultra-high power industrial fiber laser is put into use.

On December 10, 2021, the opening ceremony of China's first 100-kilowatt industrial fiber laser was held at the University of South China. It is not only the highest-power industrial fiber laser in China, but also the second-highest-power industrial laser in the world.

After being put into use, it will play a huge role in advanced manufacturing, aerospace, medical equipment, etc., especially in the decommissioning and dismantling of nuclear facilities in radioactive environments, and the surface decontamination of nuclear-contaminated devices.

In the experiment of the principle of vitrification treatment of highly radioactive nuclear waste liquid, the center temperature of the spot with a diameter of 40 cm under the laser reaches 1725 degrees, and the highly radioactive nuclear waste liquid and glass can be melted into solidified glass, and there is no pollution, no nuclear leakage, etc. .

According to reports, the laser was jointly developed by the University of South China and Raycus Laser. The laser uses high-power optical modules as units, and uses system integration and modular assembly technology to carry out the whole machine layout.

At the same time, the self-made high-power industrial-grade laser beam combiner and output optical cable are used, and multiple parameters such as power and temperature are monitored in real time to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the multi-optical device.
